Il paese dei ciechi
Typographic installation based on The country of the blind, short story written in 1904 by H.G. Wells. In my interpretation the theme of tolerance, at the core of the story, is compared to recent cases of xenophobia. The parallelism is created by projecting a short extract of the story over a wall of photocopied newspapers’ articles dealing with episodes of racism and intolerance in Italy.

installation, 360×265 cm

In the booklet that illustrates the installation, the overlap of multiple levels of meaning is reproduced by using transparent pages, which contain the extract of the story, as well as the references that inspired the installation.
